Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 2026

This policy explains what Episodo collects and why. We aim to collect only what we need to run the service.

What we collect

  • Account data — an identifier and, if you sign up, your email.
  • Content you create — the premises you write and the scripts, images, and videos generated from them.
  • Usage data — basic logs and metrics needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.

How we use it

To generate your takes, show your library, enforce fair-use limits, prevent abuse, and improve the product. We don’t sell your personal data.

Service providers

To deliver generation we send the necessary data to the providers we run on: Supabase (database, auth, image storage), Vercel (hosting and logs), Cloudinary (video hosting), AI providers that write scripts and render scenes from your premise text, PostHog (product analytics), and Resend (transactional email such as access-approval notices). Each processes only what its part of the service needs.

Sharing & public links

A finished take is private until you share it. If you copy a public share link, anyone with that link can view that single video without signing in. Don’t share links to content you want to keep private. Takes appear in the public Explore gallery only when explicitly featured after review.

Retention & your choices

You can delete a take at any time, which removes it from your library and disables its share link. You can also delete your whole account from your account page, which removes your series, episodes, access record, and sign-in. Rendered video files on our video host are purged on a scheduled cleanup rather than instantly; backups expire on a rolling basis. Depending on where you live (GDPR, CCPA, and similar) you may also have rights to access, correct, or export your data — ask via the help page and we’ll respond within 30 days.
